ANC Librarian, Karen Ellis, will be hosting an After School Book Club for students in 3rd- 6th grades.  Join in on 4 fun weeks of discovering books that deal with one of your favorite subjects- FOOD!  The first book will be "How to Eat Fried Worms" by author Thomas Rockwell.  If you love to read and want to make some new friends, this club's for you!

*Participants will need to bring a copy of the book "How to Eat Fried Worms" with them.

*A snack will be provided. 

Alzheimer's Awareness Workshop- Blytheville

At this interactive workshop, conducted by the Alzheimer's Association, you will learn the 10 Warning Signs of Alzheimer's disease.  We'll separate myth from reality and address commonly-held fears about Alzheimer's in America.  Hear from people who have the disease and find out how to recognize the signs in yourself and others.

Topics Include:

* How to tell the difference between Alzheimer’s and typical aging

* Steps to take if you recognize a warning sign in yourself or someone  you know

* The process to receiving an Alzheimer’s diagnosis

* Why early detection is crucial

Please register even though this is a free workshop.

Meeting Dates will be Tuesdays August 29th, September 26th, October 24th, and November 21st.

Join our ANC Fine Arts students for a week-end of art and theatre. The first stop is Eureka Springs and "The Passion Play". You'll enjoy this massive production. Then onto Bentonville and Crystal Bridges Museum of American Art.. Along with the many beautiful works of art in the museum  is "Chihuly in the Forest", the amazing glass exhibit shown outside on the trails . The price listed is for a double occupancy room. A single is $325.00 and a triple is $229. Your price includes: Hotel for two nights, Transportation, Passion Play tickets and a backstage pass. Breakfast is included with the room , but all other meals are on your own. This trip is schedule for  Oct. 27-29th

Bible Study

"Strengthening Your Creativity in Christ" is the title of this 6 week Bible Study conducted by instructor Holly Jo Engle.  This class will look at different scriptures in the Old and New Testatments, and learn how to use your God given talents or discover a new one!  The class will also explore how to use what we consider hobbies for God's purposes by tring new things and making new friends along the way.
